Readable Translation and Real Inclusion
At a multilingual conference, the organizer wanted every attendee to be able to read the translation, not only hear it. Some delegates preferred following in text, others were in noisier areas of the venue, and the client wanted the event to be inclusive for deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees, who are too often left out when access is audio-only.
We added AI live captions alongside the translated audio. As speakers presented, LisanPro AI generated real-time captions and translated subtitles that attendees could read on their own smartphones and on screens in the room.
The subtitles were also projected on a large screen on the stage, so anyone in the audience could read along without needing a smartphone at all. For deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees, the captions meant they could follow every word in real time, in the same flow as everyone else.
The captions turned out to be one of the most appreciated parts of the event. Attendees who preferred reading, those in noisier spots, those without a receiver, and those who are hard of hearing all followed the program on equal footing, whether on their own phone or by looking at the stage screen.
